I'm really proud of how this piece turned out! ^^

I basically wanted to try out different art styles, and attempted to match up the characters with their cultural counterparts. It was really a bit difficult trying to capture these styles.
Sokka and Katara were sort of inspired by ~Isaia's art and various Inuit/Alaska Native wood-block prints - [link]
Aang’s style is based on Buddhist-influenced paintings and art - similar to what is seen in Tibet/the Himalayas.
Zuko - I dunno. I’ve heard lots of different ideas on the origin of Fire Nation style. While there are some Japanese influences, I’ve always really felt that it’s had a Thailand and Indonesian sort of feel to it all. I found quite a few pictures of old Thai murals and architecture that have an unusually similar look. [link] [link] [link]
Toph is inspired by Chinese ink paintings - lots of loose lines and watery colors. (I think this one is my favorite) ^^

I actually did a bit of traditional art, this time - I sketched each one out in pencil first, and used watercolors and ink. I then colored a few things in digitally, later.

[edit:] Posted an updated version. The original, untextured piece can be found here - [link]

I think you really captured that simple, elegant style. Great subtle colours.

Aaaah this is so awesome!!! I didn't even have to read your description, I could just look at it and know you worked hard to match each one to a specific cultural style that was appropriate and it shows. Awesome work m'am (or sir)

This is so cool. I love how you took their cultures, and styled them this way. I love your work so much!

have you heard of cafepress.com? You can customize your own hoodies using pictures you download then order them, and I would like to do that with this picture (because I love it and its perfect). It took me a long time to find the original arteest (you). So please think it over and let me know if I have your permission to use it on the hoodie & how. THANK YOU!

Sure, that should be fine! As long as more aren't made/created for profit. Thank you for asking!
